Luke Nosek

Luke Nosek is a Co-founder and Partner at Founders Fund

He launched Founders Fund with his partners in 2005 to support founders in achieving their ambitious missions.  At Founders Fund, he led the first outside investments in artificial intelligence company DeepMind Technologies (sold to Google for over $500 million in 2014) and Elon Musk’s Space Exploration Technologies.

Previously, he was a member of the PayPal founding team with Founders Fund partners Peter Thiel and Ken Howery and portfolio company founders Max Levchin (Affirm) and Elon Musk (SpaceX). Prior to PayPal’s acquisition by eBay for $1.5 billion in 2002, Luke served as VP of Marketing and Strategy. In that role, he created the company’s underlying email payments technology and Instant Transfer, the company’s most profitable payment product.

Luke holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from The University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign.  There, he was inducted into the Engineering Hall of Fame for his invention of PayPal.  He has been named to Forbes’ Midas List of top investors.  He sits on the board of directors of ResearchGate, Leap Motion, and SpaceX.
